Thank you for your interest in Dazzling Light Photography. We will do our best to keep everyone as up to date as possible during this uncertain time. Below will be updates as we receive them and as they pertain to our business.
February 6, 2021:
Happy New Year to all! While we are thankful to have made it through 2020, we are still keeping our precautions going and adhering to the safest practices to keep your family and ours healthy. The following are still in effect at the studio:
– We continue to clean and sanitize the studio before and after each client. Only one client at a time is allowed in the studio, and we take ample time to clean in between clients. We are doing our best to conduct only one portrait session per day, and deep cleaning the studio several times a week. This includes (but not limited to) steaming and vacuuming floors, laundering of towels, sanitizing all common surfaces (door knobs, light switches, etc.). Our goal is to minimize the spread and exposure for everyone.
– We are limiting the number of clients in the studio to just those being photographed. For now, no additional children or family will be permitted in the studio. If grandparents and/or older siblings will be photographed at newborn sessions, we will capture those images first, then ask grandparents or spouse to take older siblings out.
– Our staff will be wearing masks for all sessions. We ask parents to bring their own or use the ones provided.
– Shoes are to be left at the door. We have little babies on the floors of the studio, and to help keep them clean, we ask shoes be left up front. We have wood floors, so if slipping is a concern, please plan to bring socks with grips (slipper socks/yoga socks). We also provide shoe covers if you prefer to leave shoes on.
Again thank you for all your continued patience and understanding as we navigate these new and uncertain times. We look forward to seeing everyone soon in the new year!
April 28, 2020:
Good news! We will start opening back up May 9th! There will be some changes, as we’ll be doing our best to limit the spread of any germs.
We will continue monitoring the situation, but for now, the following will take place:
– In addition to deep cleaning and sanitizing the studio before and after each client, ideally we will allow 24 hours in between clients.
At the current time, masks are in very short supply and needed for our front line workers, so we ask parents to bring their own. We hope to get to a point to offer these, however we cannot say when this will be.
– Shoes are to be left at the door. We have little babies on the floors of the studio, and to help keep them clean, we ask shoes be left up front. We have wood floors, so if slipping is a concern, please plan to bring socks with grips (slipper socks/yoga socks).
Again thank you for all your continued patience and understanding as we navigate these new and uncertain times. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
April 8, 2020:
The stay-at-home order has been extended through April 30, 2020.
March 24, 2020:
The city of Austin and surrounding cities, including Round Rock and both Travis/Williamson county have issued a Stay-At-Home order. This order will go into effect March 24th at 11:59pm and go through April 13th.
At this time, government officials have stated all businesses that are “non essential” must close. Therefore DLP has closed the studio and is rescheduling all sessions until after the 13th.
We are still taking phone calls and emails, and doing our best to have any consultations or ordering appointments virtually.
If you have an order that was placed, we will keep in close contact regarding its status. Because other states and areas have had similar orders go into effect, many of our labs are shutting down as well.
We thank you for your patience as we do our best to handle all your orders and questions.
March 17, 2020:
At Dazzling Light Photography safety is our main priority at all times, including flu season and during this epidemic. Because we work closely with vulnerable clients including newborns, small children and pregnant women, we would like you to know that we are not taking the current coronavirus outbreak [in our town] lightly. We are sure you have concerns about remaining safe and healthy at this time, too.
We would like to share the current steps we are taking to ensure the studio environment remains safe and clean for your portrait session. We will be updating this as required and following the WHO and CDC’s guidelines closely.
– We are cleaning and sanitizing the studio after each session, consultation and ordering appointment.
– We are limiting the number of clients in the studio to just those being photographed. We allow video chatting to go on during a session to allow other family and friends to participate at a social distance.
– We are spacing out appointments with enough time to clean between each, and our staff is working remotely as much as possible.
If you or your child feel unwell with respiratory or viral symptoms (even mild) or has been in contact with anyone who is symptomatic before your session, please contact us as soon as possible so we can reschedule to another time. If anyone attending the session appears to have a cough, fever or other symptoms of a virus, the session will be halted and all clients will be asked to leave immediately.
If we (or anyone in our households) becomes unwell or comes into contact with anyone exhibiting symptoms, you will be notified immediately and we can reschedule for a better time.
We are committed to protecting our clients at all times. If you have any concerns or would like to chat further about booking a session or attending your session, please pop us an email at

Thank you to all our clients and friends who continue to support us during this uncertain time. We look forward to getting back to “business as usual” and seeing you and your family in the near future!
